We are looking for a creative fashion product designer to develop innovative women's underwear and swimwear collections that reflect and meet the needs of our customers.

The role

Working within our Under Colours brand, you will be a professional fashion product designer with a minimum of one years of experience, who will be designing our products with the utmost attention to detail and quality of work to sometimes close deadlines. You will work closely with our manufacturing team to help design and then create our products using your knowledge of clothing design, fabrics and manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

- Be the lead and assist in the design of our products with our manufacturing team

- Create tech packs and other assets for the manufacturing team to turn into finished garments

- Handle materials, goods and components carefully and comply with safety regulations and quality standards

- Research and keep up to date with fashion trends, materials and innovations relevant to the brand

- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to ensure products align with customer needs and brand identity

- Prepare mood boards, sketches, and prototypes for concept development

- Manage communication with suppliers and manufacturers regarding technical specifications

- Support in costings, ensuring designs meet budget requirements

- Planning and organising of workload

- Ensuring quality control standards are followed

- Ensuring health and safety standards are followed

Skills, knowledge and experience required

- Must be a professional fashion product designer with a minimum of one years of experience

- Must have experience and be able to competently use fashion product design software such as Adobe Illustrator

- Strong understanding of garment construction and fabric properties

- Good communication and presentation skills for explaining design concepts.

- Be able to use own initiative and pay close attention to detail

- Ability to cope with competing demands and to prioritise tasks

- Excellent organisational and time management skills

- A positive attitude to dealing with people

- Capable of working independently and having responsibility as an individual

- Capable of hands on problem solving, with the ability to generate ideas and solutions

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 25,000.00 per year
