Ready to shape the future of nuclear safety and help Britain achieve net zero? Passionate about using quantitative methods to justify safe operations? At EDF, Success is Personal -your career journey is yours to shape.
We have two openings within our department for Fault Analysis Safety Case Engineers. Our nuclear power stations justify safe operation through comprehensive analysis of potential plant faults and hazards and the downstream risk to nuclear safety of employees and the public. Both roles we have are primarily safety case engineer roles - one with a focus on Probabilistic Safety Analysis (PSA) and another with a more general fault analysis perspective.
You will develop and maintain safety cases using both deterministic and probabilistic methods, lead Engineering Changes (ECs), provide safety case advice and emergent technical support to the station and other departments, and maintain the integrity of the design over the entire station lifetime to achieve a continuous high level of safety. The role includes being a key interface with the UK nuclear regulator.
We have a specific need in fault analysis and PSA, but successful applicants will work flexibly across different technical disciplines, with training and mentoring support provided where needed. The work will focus on supporting safe generation at Sizewell B, the UK's only generating PWR, and extending its generating lifetime to at least 2055.
This is a hybrid role based at our #Gloucester or #Glasgow office, with flexibility to work from home and a minimum of three days in the office per week.
