We are looking for a

High Voltage Fault Technician

to join our expert team. In this critical role, you will be the first responder when our customers experience faults or outages on their high-voltage networks. Backed by our experienced engineering team, you'll use advanced fault-finding techniques and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues efficiently.



Beyond fault response, you'll take a proactive role in delivering high-quality service on key projects, upholding the exceptional standards of EDS and ensuring client satisfaction at every stage.


Principle Accountabilities




Conduct fault-finding operations on offshore subsea cable networks. Utilize advanced testing and diagnostic tools to pinpoint cable faults. Perform cable integrity assessments and support in recommended repair strategies. Testing Of HV Cables and Accessories in accordance with relevant standards. Conduct Maintenance and Repair to high standards documenting work completed and providing required evidence. Support projects globally with our key clients mobilizing on and offshore to support the needs of the client. Working on rotations and ad hoc as required. Maintain detailed records of fault locations, repair procedures, and system performance. Ability to support the cable repair team with repair tasks and post repair testing. Develop and maintain proactive and positive relationships with all key stakeholders within EDS and across the wider JF Group by promoting and encouraging a culture that aligns with and actively supports the JFR company values. Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and marine specialists to optimize fault resolution. Promote H&S at every opportunity supporting the HSE reporting systems, HSE team & Leadership team to ensure the culture of the business is based on ZERO Harm safety and learning through lessons learned and feedback.

Qualifications and Experience


Familiarity with HVDC and HVAC cable systems. Trained in the use of LIRA, TDR, OTDR, HV Bridge, Thumping, Arc Reflection, Tone generator and IR testing. DTS/DAS interpretation Trained. Previous experience carrying out asset testing to prove integrity. Comfortable interrogating data streams. You will need to maintain relevant training which allows access to onshore and offshore environments. Understanding of the maintenance and repair regimes of critical system components, such as Cable terminations, joints, link boxes, switchgear and subsea cable support systems. As we serve clients across Europe and beyond, willingness to travel is essential. IT Literate. This role requires a high degree of integrity and a flexible approach to achieving objectives through others and by influencing others.

OTDR Testing & Report writing Qualification LIRA testing training TDR, IR,CR & Bridge Training Proficient in fault report writing 3M Cold shrink joints Pfisterer Size 1-6 (Connex & Seanex) Trained in VLF, Damped AC & Resonant Testing IOSH / NEBOSH qualified Competent person trained GWO
