F&B Packaging Engineer - Your future position?





As

F&B Packaging

Engineer,

you will be in charge of managing all technical aspects of the packaging portfolio globally. You will drive the optimization of primary and secondary packaging materials in coordination with the Global team. You will be in charge of or actively support the standardization of packaging and processes, validation of materials and equipment, cost saving activities, development of suppliers with IM&S, integration of sustainability focus in the projects and representation of the regions in the global team. Moreover, you will have a significant impact on our business by ensuring all packaging comply with legal requirements in the regions where they are traded.

Partner Management and Networking
Be the primary contact for the region/division on packaging activities and act as lead expert Coordinate packaging validation activities and collect packaging qualification documents with project teams Drive packaging trials when required as per the validation plan and provide inputs for manufacturing/packaging cost and Capex plans. Network with Packaging Engineering team, Process Engineering, Procurement, Safety, Quality and Supply chain teams Support regional teams for the evaluation and selection of packaging vendors and periodically conduct vendor reviews Lead packaging projects for the region/division and implement packaging processes, best practice and guidelines as agreed with the Global Packaging Team. Be responsible for Inbound and Outbound Packaging process & improvements. Ready to also support overall Manufacturing process excellence in addition to packaging related processes such as Packing & Filling process, Material Handling Process, Storage and transportation.




Safety and Quality Management
Address and report regulatory exposures (Dangerous Goods, Food Contact Materials,...) and ensure all packaging material meet safety and quality standards in consideration of legal and country requirements Provide support to Operation and Quality teams on issues related to packaging materials, packaging equipment to determine best-fit resolutions and dedicated customer issue management for packaging. Solve Packaging and labelling issues. Ensure data quality of packaging material in the system as well as the accuracy of documents stored in the global packaging repository.




Continuous improvement
Inspire and support the business in developing innovative packaging solutions for new product categories (e.g. integrated solutions) Support the implementation of alternative packaging options and new materials in line with our strategy on Plastic Circularity to meet our 2030 targets on single us plastics. Set a customer first approach to Packaging development Identify regional packaging optimization projects

You Have:




Preferably Masters degree in packaging technology or relevant experience in packaging engineering and processes More than 5 years of operational / R&D experience in a packaging position Experience in Packaging in a B2B industry with experience in food ingredients or related industry International exposure Expertise in Safety & Food Safety regulation Exposure to Dangerous Goods transportation norms Experienced working and communicating in a matrix organization Proficiency in English; additional language skills are an advantage Required knowledge about Packaging for Food content (Oral Care ,Food Compliance) and cosmetics (Active Beauty ,Liquid Compounding).
