Shift pattern:

2-4 WEEKS temporary fixed term/locum cover (date to be confirmed)

We have an exciting opportunity for a

First Contact Practitioner (Physiotherapist)

to join our Newcastle Primary Care team on a

temporary basis 2.5-3 days per week on a short term temporary basis of 2-4 weeks.



Working pattern:

Mondays 1.30pm-5.30pm Tuesdays 9am - 5pm Wednesdays 8.30am - 5pm

About the Role



As a First Contact Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting the Hastings area. Offering care, rehabilitation, and therapeutic pathways for patients with acute and chronic musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions.

Key Responsibilities



Conduct comprehensive triages and manage both common and complex MSK conditions at the first point of contact within primary care. Perform physiotherapy assessments, diagnoses, and treatments for acute and chronic injuries. Apply advanced clinical reasoning to form accurate diagnoses and management plans, including further investigations, lifestyle changes, and rehabilitation advice. Refer patients to secondary care, physiotherapy services, or other members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) as necessary. Provide professional and effective advice to patients and caregivers. Ensure all patient records are maintained and updated in a timely and accurate manner.

You will also need to:



Valid HCPC registration and CSP membership. BSc in Physiotherapy. Minimum of 5 years' experience as a qualified Physiotherapist. Minumum of 3 years' MSK experience Strong communication, time management, and clinical reasoning skills. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (due to multiple site coverage). Enhanced DBS check
