WHAT TO EXPECT

The MLA Feature and system Integration Lead Engineer is accountable for the co-ordinated delivery of customer features and systems into the MLA vehicle programmes or platforms, achieving programme milestones from conception up to engineering sign-off for Job 1. The Feature and System Integration Engineer co-ordinates and aligns Domain software delivery plans to ensure that their combined outputs deliver critical feature and function sets to meet vehicle program requirements. This includes assisting with end-to-end planning of complex features, involving multiple delivery areas, to break down and align their sprint and product increment targets so that the features arrive and mature in vehicles in a phased and controlled way. The Feature and System Integration Engineer also assists with keeping key stakeholders appraised of all Feature KPIs - e.g feature design progression, introduction status, major issues and resolution plans, as well as assisting with major issue resolution and resolving impediments cross-functionally as needed to enable on-time delivery.

Key Accountabilities and Responibilities

  • Primary responsibility to ensure timely delivery of vehicle features into MLA programmes, identifying and removing any roadblocks that may prevent success;
  • Engage Domain engineering teams to align feature delivery timelines with MLA programme major milestones, gain alignment of targets within PIs and sprint planning across all dependency areas;
  • Lead resolution of key integration issues to assist achieving ESO for all features on time;
  • Providing coaching and leadership peers and team members to forward their development;
  • Close alignment with vehicle program planners/core VE team to communicate and align status and plans;
  • Identification and communication of critical paths and dependencies within vehicle program plan;
  • Support data collection for reporting of status via the consolidated "Integration Report";
  • Drive feature maturity status to target level for key programme milestones;
  • Provide escalation point of help for feature integration for the programme;
  • Continue to drive process and reporting excellence in the discipline of Feature, Systems and Software engineering.
WHAT YOU\'LL NEED

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
  • Significant experience in the integration and delivery of electrical, electromechanical or software systems;
  • Demonstrated experience of technical analysis and employing best-in-class processes in engineering;
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills - able to collaboratively influence delivery teams across the engineering function;
  • Thorough understanding and experience of key vehicle systems and whole vehicle systems engineering;
  • Proven ability to interpret and use technical data along with business skills with technical decision-making;
  • Experience of engineering product delivery using project management techniques;
  • Experience of managing individual performance and team management;
  • Experience of programme and project delivery processes under Agile methodology;
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience
