We're on the lookout for a visionary Federation Finance Manager to take the reins of our 11.5 million budget and drive excellence across finance and I.T. operations. This is more than a management role - it's a strategic leadership opportunity where your expertise will shape the future of our schools and communities.
About the Role
As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you'll be the financial compass guiding our federation's success. You'll lead a talented team, oversee financial systems, and ensure every pound is spent with purpose and impact. From strategic planning to hands-on operations, your work will empower our schools to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Lead financial strategy and budget management across the federation and two schools.
Drive forecasting, business planning, and financial modelling with senior leaders.
Supervise and inspire Finance and I.T. teams to deliver excellence.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and financial best practices.
Manage payroll reconciliation (4.7 million), banking, and credit/debit transactions.
Collaborate with HR, auditors, and external agencies to maintain robust financial health.
Champion value for money, internal controls, and continuous improvement.
Provide training and support to budget holders and SLT members.
Contribute to strategic decision-making as a core SLT member.
Who We're Looking For
You're a strategic thinker with a hands-on mindset and a passion for making a difference. You bring:
Proven experience in financial leadership, ideally in education or public sector.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial compliance.
Confidence with financial systems (Bromcom experience a plus).
Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
A relevant professional qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA) is desirable.
