We're excited to be looking for a Fellow & Research Funding Manager to join our Research & Knowledge Exchange team. You will be responsible for (a) research income generation and (b) research project management and delivery. In addition, you will contribute to (c) planning & delivery of our annual conference (d) providing Thought Leadership in EDI, and (e) training on one or more of our programmes.

commission, publish and support research, and advance thought leadership on a broad spectrum of EDI topics and concerns
partner with individuals and institutions nationally and internationally to advance efforts to address areas of common interests and EDI concerns
The Institute's USP is that all its services are grounded in practice and informed by research.
Key Responsibilities
? Lead the Institute's grant capture activities.
? Manage the portfolio of the Institute's grant income.
? Monitor grant progress against agreed milestones, plus outcomes and impact by preparing and reviewing progress reports and contracts. Ensure timely reporting and build strong working relationships with the funders/ awarding bodies.
? Work closely with IESE staff and Fellows to respond to funding calls/ invitation to tender, assembling documentation, co-ordination of timelines, triage and the peer review process, contracting, etc.
? Propose and monitor expenditure on grants secured, in line with the Institute's budget; ensure projects adhere to the Institute's income recognition and other financial policies. Process invoices for awarded projects, supported by colleagues in the Finance team.
? Document and monitor the outputs, outcomes and impact arising from research undertaken by the Institute. Liaise with the Marketing team regarding any potential case studies and press releases to demonstrate impact from the Institute's investment.
? Lead the review and refresh of the Institute's Research & Enterprise Strategy.
? Meticulous record keeping, including drafting operational guidelines and standard operating procedures. Support the continual use and development of the processes, systems and software used by the Institute to manage grant activities.
? Attend & support the delivery of research & enterprise meetings and serve on research advisory boards for external organisations as a consultant on behalf of the Institute.
? Manage and grow the Institute's relationships with partners, including grant funders, and identify new opportunities for collaboration.
? Identify and use appropriate platforms to grow portfolio of available bids.
? Respond to research enquiries from funders and members of the public.
? Work flexibly including, when required, during evenings and weekends undertaking any duties, as required, relevant to the level of the post.
How you'll make an impact:
Identify sources of funding and develop proposals to secure research/ project funding
Contribute to the design and delivery of research projects
Working with, and/or researching, socially excluded or marginalised peoples and communities
Extend and apply knowledge acquired from scholarship to the Institute's work/ training
Assess, interpret and evaluate outcomes of research undertaken
Produce reports and policy briefs from research undertaken
Lead/ contribute to the Institute's Thought Leadership through knowledge production (e.g.: through the IESE's 'Focus on EDI ' series). dissemination activities
Resolve problems of meeting research objectives and deadlines
Contribute to knowledge generation, knowledge exchange and knowledge transfer activities (e.g.: IESE annual conference, and lecturer)
Provide leadership, support, mentorship and training to other Fellows and staff as appropriate

Qualifications:
Masters or doctoral degree in a subject of relevance to the Institute (e.g.: Research Methods, Education, Law, Human Geography, Interdisciplinary Studies, Psychology, Business)
Relevant professional body membership
Skills:
Demonstrable knowledge and skill in the use of quantitative and qualitative methodologies and methods
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Able to communicate complex and conceptual ideas to a range of groups
Teamworking and managing multiple deadlines simultaneously
Meticulous record keeping, including drafting operational guidelines and standard operating procedures. Support the continual use and development of the processes, systems and software used by the Institute to manage grant activities.
Experience:
Proven experience of writing successful grant proposals (you will be required to provide examples)
Experience of teaching/ training, including training of professionals
Experience/ evidence of writing project reports and policy briefs (you will be required to provide examples)
Evidence/ portfolio of managing [multiple] projects and teams
Evidence of the ability to collaborate actively with others to complete projects
Participation in external networks and have earned the respect of peers
Knowledge of funding opportunities available to charities and higher education institutions
