This is a rewarding and varied role supporting children across the school with a range of
Special Educational Needs (SEN)
. The successful applicant will work within the ARP, providing support for children from
EYFS through to KS2
. Some pupils may require
personal care
, although this is not a core aspect of the role and should not deter suitable candidates.
You will work alongside class teachers and the SEN team to help pupils with
complex needs
access learning, build their confidence, and achieve progress towards their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) goals.
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for an individual who is:
Experienced in supporting
children with SEN
, including Autism and other complex needs
Proactive, enthusiastic, and confident using their initiative
Skilled at
building positive, trusting relationships
with children, staff, and families
Flexible and comfortable working with
children across all primary age groups
Resilient, patient, and committed to making a difference
Previous experience in an ARP or specialist SEN provision is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
Supporting children on a 1:1 or small group basis within the ARP and mainstream settings
Assisting with the delivery of tailored learning plans and behaviour strategies
Encouraging pupil engagement, independence, and progress
Providing personal care where necessary
Working closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to support holistic development
