Job Description

We are looking for *female carers in Kent to support our client, a young lady with complex care and medical needs. This is a rewarding position supporting is available for a professional and proactive waking night carer or day carer.

About this client: Phoebe (20) is a lovely young lady who loves everything pink, glittery and all things music and dance! Phoebe lives with her parents, younger siblings, and two very loving dogs (Labrador and Labradoodle) in Hildenborough. Phoebe has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, complex care medical needs, epilepsy, is non-verbal, and has a visual impairment. All medication and fluids are administered via a PEG, she is oxygen-dependent overnight and requires occasional suctioning. Phoebe's home is fully adapted, and she has her own area (bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and therapy room) in her family home. Phoebe has a care team in place providing round-the-clock support and there is an opening for carers to join her team. All training for new team members is provided.

Overview of role:



Your role will be to provide holistic support to Phoebe in all aspects of her health, care, and medical needs.

There is the opportunity to travel with the family to support Phoebe on her summer holidays.

Training is provided in all aspects of Phoebe's care plan, whilst previous experience supporting a young person with additional needs is an advantage, it is not essential.

Day Carer

: The role involves getting Phoebe up in the morning ready to take her to her day centre 3 days per week and carrying out all her care whilst at the centre before then returning home and carrying out her evening routine. You will then get her ready for bed. At weekends and non -centre days, shifts are all day and will include undertaking activities at home, taking her out for activities in her own transport, working alongside therapy staff and swimming in her own hydrotherapy pool. Phoebe's home is purpose built with full adaptations for her needs.

Night Carer

: The role involves supporting Phoebe in evening activities and then getting her ready for bed if not in bed already. This is a waking night position and will involve re-positioning and administering medications throughout the night. If Phoebe wakes early, the role involves getting her up and ready for her day before handing over to day staff.

Working Hours:



36.75- 49 hours per week.

Part time also considered.

Nights: 6.45pm - 7.00am.

Days: 6.45 am to 7pm - Mon - Sunday

The successful day /waking night carer will be working 12-hour shifts; however, you will not be expected to work every weekend. We will try to accommodate your availability. You may be required to cover nights/days when other carers are on annual leave.

Rates of Pay:



Up to 19.50 Gross per Hour.
