COMPLEX HEALTH CARE ASSISTANT / INDEPENDENT LIVING SUPPORT WORKER

If you have previous relevant experience working in the 'Health and Social Care Sector', as a Healthcare Assistant and/or an Independent Living Support Worker, and you are keen to learn new care skills to improve your current, and future career prospects, or if are looking for the opportunity to commence working in the 'Care Industry', this is a fantastic opportunity to join an 'Established' team of friendly 'Female' only employees working exclusively with one, easy to get on with, white British middle-aged man who has an acquired Physical Disability, caused by a Spinal Cord Injury, to assist him with his 24-hour personal care and Independent living support needs so that he can continue to live independently in his own home, and participate in community based activities to enjoy a more fulfilled, and better quality of life.

The job role involves the provision of complex and non-complex personal care tasks, which must be carried out per the extensive Spinal Cord Injury aftercare training provided, and independent living support tasks, all of which must be carried out in accordance with the 'Person-centred care and support plan'.

A minimum of one years previous relevant experience is preferred, however, this is NOT essential because all successful candidates will receive extensive in-house, and external sourced, Spinal Cord Injury aftercare training from already fully trained Employees, and also from an independent third-party Health Professional training service provider.

The training provided covers all of the following Spinal Cord Injury aftercare support needs:



Management of bladder and bowel function.*
Maintaining skin integrity.*
Management of breathing complications.*
Moving, handling, and positioning procedures.*
Physiotherapy (i.e. Passive limb movements/standing routine).*
Management of SCI-related medical complications (i.e. Autonomic Dysreflexia, Postural Hypotension, Poikilothermia, Involuntary Muscle Spasms, and Muscle Spasticity).*
