We are seeking a reliable and professional Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials efficiently and safely to various locations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage deliveries in a timely manner. The Driver will play a vital part in ensuring customer satisfaction through punctual and secure deliveries, supporting our operational needs across different sectors.

Duties

Operate commercial vehicles, including flatbeds and other specialised lorries, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies. Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries while optimising fuel efficiency. Load and unload goods with care, ensuring items are secured properly during transit. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly to maintenance teams. Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or delays. Assist with warehouse operations when required, including inventory management and stock organisation. Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.

Skills

Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly as a delivery driver or similar role. Strong driving skills with a clean driving licence, preferably with experience operating flatbed vehicles. Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshoot minor issues. Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients, dispatch teams, and colleagues professionally. Experience working in warehouse environments is advantageous. Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as loading/unloading cargo efficiently and safely. Knowledge of local routes and traffic regulations within the area of operation.
