Pay rate: 16.36 per hour.





The role requires a female only, due to the hand searches required for Female Customers who go through the security lane . This is in line with the DfT compliance procedures.





Mitie has a great opportunity for an Aviation Security Officer to join the Aviation Security Team at St Pancras Operation and at Temple Mills depot.





Are you available to cover various shift patterns? Are you flexible with working locations and potential changes to working patterns? Can you start shift at 4:30 in the morning?

Main Duties

The security officer will demonstrate their character as determined, trustworthy, attentive and approachable at all times when welcoming clients and customers.





Polite and excellent customer service at all times





Carrying out physical Body searches, bag searches, screening hand and hold luggage through x-ray machine, access control, static post, patrol, vehicle search and other operational duties.





Respond to any on site incident or request for assistance and protect the integrity of the restricted zone until the arrival of the BTP, Client, Emergency Services or Duty Manager





Reporting to the Security Duty Manager - must record, report and escalate all incidents using the process/system/technology as required throughout their shift.





It's also important that you are physically fit as the role require you to spend periods of time standing, sitting, bending and walking.

Qualifications

Valid SIA Frontline Door Supervision or Security Guarding License essential, CCTV License would be beneficial.





We will test the applicant colour vision view on site, during application process. This is to verify that the applicant has full colour vision and the capability to appropriately perform a key x-ray screening duties and able to identify the various threats representing various colours.





Counter Terrorism Check will be carried out after the job offer and applicant cannot start the shift until the checks cleared by the relevant authorities.





A Full UK Driving license would be beneficial

You need to be a team player with an enthusiastic attitude. You have to have flexible approach to suit the business needs with an ability to work with different teams as required. Excellent communication skills are required both written and verbal. Capability in using the workplace software and current IT technology. Are you an ambassador for great customer service? You will also be required to pass through a range of referencing and vetting checks, including a Criminal Record Check and. You must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years with a 5-year checkable work history.
