Support Worker (Female only candidates)- Coppull, Lancashire
Permanent contract - 24 hours per week @ 13.50 per hour day rate
(14 ph following successful probation period)
and National living wage sleep rate. (Over time available)
We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Support Worker to join our dedicated team. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for supporting others to gain valuable experience within a caring and person-centred environment.
Our client lives in her own property in Coppull, Lancashire. She has a brain injury and physical impairment. She requires support with wheelchair transfers, medication, personal care and moving and handling transfers. Due to requiring personal and intimate care, our client prefers female only candidates to uphold her privacy and decency. This is therefore an occupational requirement under the Equality Act, 2010.

She loves animals and has a dog and rabbit of her own. She also takes great pride in her appearance and home. Our client works with a full multidisciplinary team including a case manager, physiotherapist, occupational therapist and psychological therapists and there are opportunities to work alongside all professionals, as well as a group of support staff. We are looking for someone who can join the team to help promote our client's confidence, positive relationships, and opportunities to fulfil her life.

Essential Requirements Include:
Skills in working autonomously when required however knows when to seek advice and assistance from the wider team, excellent communication skills including IT and verbal/non-verbal skills.
Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and engage with psychological therapy to enhance the support provision and communication for the client.
Evidence of qualifications in Health and Social Care equivalent to the care certificate/ NVQ level 2.
Preferable:
Previous experience of working with people who have a brain injury, and/or of working within a multi-disciplinary team including therapy and rehabilitation.
Responsibilities
Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Assist with medication administration and ensure adherence to prescribed treatment plans.
Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being.
Support clients with meal preparation and ensure nutritional needs are met.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
Implement behaviour management strategies as required for clients with specific needs such as Alzheimer's or dementia care.
Document client progress and report any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
Foster positive relationships with clients and their families to enhance communication and trust.
Experience
Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar environments is highly desirable.
Familiarity with patient care practices, including hospice care and senior care principles.
Knowledge of first aid procedures is an advantage.
Experience in caregiving roles that involve driving or providing childcare would be beneficial.
A background in Alzheimer's or dementia care is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate. We welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others through dedicated support work.
