This is a role to work specifically with an individual who likes to be active and creative. They are autistic and wheelchair user and require support from staff that value honesty and respect. This role is about working with someone, not over them, and you'll be part of a team that values clear communication, mutual respect, and practical, compassionate care.
We're looking for someone who is:
A female Support Worker who is a car owner and willing to use car for work with milage paid.
Willing and able to support all aspects of life including cooking, activities, and life skills.
Treats others the way they'd want to be treated
Respects the individual's space, belongings, and autonomy
Is proactive and can take initiative without being prompted constantly.
Has emotional resilience and life experience--conversations and needs can sometimes be complex or sensitive
Is calm, observant, and able to help manage triggers before they become an issue
Able to problem solve
Understands that
quality of life
is more important than pushing for total independence and demonstrates a willingness to adapt depending on the need presented, as they vary day to day.
Wants to support someone in living a fulfilling, self-directed life.
Fully engaged in the role, not just active but attentive.
