*Female Team Leader required to support a delightful young adult who has a Learning Disability and Cerebral Palsy, living in Shropshire.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to make a difference to our client. She is aged 19 years, and lives in a self - contained annexe next door to her family. You will be responsible leading the directly employed support team who are responsible for providing all her care in her home environment and community. She has all her food, fluids, and medication via a PEG, she communicates using Makaton and requires some supervision to safely mobilise.

You need to be organised, a good communicator, proactive and flexible and must be adventurous and mischievous. You must be passionate about making a difference to a young person and have a high level of initiative and self-autonomy. We want the right person to join and lead her support team. You will provide a high standard of leadership and care including supporting therapy and social opportunities for our client. She attends a local specialist college and enjoys accessing the local community and taking part in family activities.

You will lead the team who provide support, care and therapy for the client ensuring her safety and physical wellbeing. Your role will be a combination of team leader and the day-to-day delivery of support. The young adult has regular therapy, and the focus is for her to reach her full potential and live an active and varied life.

Working Hours:

Contracted Hours - 18 hours per week compromising of approximately 10 hours support and 8 hours team lead. The support hours will entail slotting into a set rota, plus there additional hours to cover leave. Additional hours are available during school holidays and when accompanying the client on holiday.

Typical shifts are:

Weekends & School Holidays: 8.15am-8.15pm and 8.15pm-8.15am sleeping nights

Monday - Friday Term Time: 3.45pm-10.15pm and 10.15pm-8.15am

Rates of Pay:

Monday-Friday: 19.00 per hour

Saturday-Sunday: 21.00 per hour

Bank Holidays: 24.00 per hour

Monday-Friday (Sleeping Nights): 13.00 per hour between the hours of 11.15pm and 6.15am

Saturday-Sunday (Sleeping Nights): 15.00 per hour between the hours of 11.15pm and 6.15am

All hourly rates will rise by 0.50 per hours upon completion of successful probation period.

Accompanying the client on holiday paid at 12.21 per hour away.

The successful candidate will have a patient, warm and caring nature, demonstrate leadership abilities and be confident in using IT such as email and electronic record keeping.

A full driving licence is essential.

An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable. Otherwise, the applicant must be willing to undertake Care Certificate training.

Experience with Makaton and/or PEG feeding are desirable qualities for this position as is water confidence and being physically fit.

All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Adult and Child Workforce
