Role Description
We are committed to equal opportunities and have a fantastic opportunity for caring and dedicated Team Leader to join a small team supporting an incredible woman in her own home. She lives life to the fullest and needs a team that will embrace her world, her family, and her way of doing things.
She communicates verbally and with the help of visual aids and signs, and requires support in all areas of daily living, from personal care and meal preparation to shopping, appointments, and community activities. She loves decorating for celebrations, swimming, and going shopping.
Family is an important part of her life, and it's essential that new team leader values these relationships and works collaboratively with them.
While she can sometimes display distressed behaviours, she thrives with consistent support from people who are calm, patient, and trained (or willing to be trained) in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
If you're someone with empathy, emotional resilience, and the ability to find fun in everyday moments, this could be the perfect role for you.
To lead her team, we're looking for people who:
Experience supervising or leading a team in a care or education setting
Proven background in supporting individuals with complex behavioural needs
Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain positive family and professional relationships
A personcentred approach to planning and delivering support
Desirable
PBS (Positive Behaviour Support) Assistant training
Experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant
Background in speech and language support
Proficiency in sign language (e.g., Makaton or BSL)
