The main purpose of the role is to provide an outstanding patient experience by showing care, trust, expertise, drive innovation, and demonstrate to our patients our passion on a day-to-day basis.

The post-holder will be a skilled enthusiastic Fertility Specialist/Consultant. A skilled professional with experience or have an interest in developing skills in assisted conception and have the desire to be part of TFH in becoming 'the' provider of choice.

The post-holder will manage the care of new and existing patients from the consultation process through to the completion on treatment working within the clinical policies and protocols.

The post holder must have a full GMC registration. The responsibilities of TFH Fertility Specialists is to delivery and maintain the highest standard of clinical and patient care in accordance with Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 2008 and the current HFEA Code of Practice.

In the course of seeking treatment, patients entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters. They do so in confidence and have the right to expect that staff will respect their privacy and act appropriately. The post-holder may have access to confidential information and any such information from any source is to be regarded as strictly confidential.

The post-holder will participate in any training programme implemented by TFH as part of this employment, with such training to include: participation in an annual individual performance review, including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development. In addition, taking responsibility for own development and learning and performance and demonstrating skills and activities to others who are undertaking similar work. Train and mentor Registered Nurses.

Place of work: The Fertility Home, 14 Old Field Road, Bridgend CF35 5LJ.

Hours 37.5 hours per week unless part time and this will be pro rata.

Probation period for the post will be 3 months from start date.

Times of TFH opening are: 08.00am to 18.00 however there maybe occasions where you will be required to cover a late evening and a Saturday morning on a rota basis where required.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

HyCoSy and Saline procedures Sonographer using ultrasonic equipment to diagnose fertility issues Prepare patients for imaging tests Capture clear ultrasound of a patient's uterus, endometrial lining and ovaries so that diagnostic and care treatment is clear Egg collections Embryo transfers Educate patients on fertility preservation, genetic diseases and infertility treatments such as endometriosis or polycystic ovarian syndrome Work closely with medical, nursing and other colleagues to offer the highest level of patient care Surgical Sperm Collection (SSR) Surgical Sperm Retrieval (SSR) Strong knowledge of the HFEA Code of Conduct Effective communication skills regarding medical topics with both patients and colleagues Patient focused attitude An appropriate level of supervision and management skills An understanding of prevailing legislation An understanding of, and ability to apply, quality assurance and monitoring of clinical performance The ability to support other clinical staff develop their professional CPD Culture & Leadership:
An ambassador for shaping fertility journeys with the aim of 'getting it right first time' approach. Engendering passion throughout TFH. To help create a culture of learning, trust and self-improvement.

Support the Laboratory and Operations Manager with incidents and complaints management to de-escalate and where possible prevent the complaint becoming formal.

Support the Laboratory and Operations Manager with work planning. Be an advocate for Health and Safety and record all incidents in line with TFH procedures taking care to avoid injury to yourself or to others and co-operate with TFH meeting its statutory requirements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 110,000.00-120,000.00 per year
