Become a Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (FHASS) Student Ambassador! We are now recruiting for our 2025/26 Student Ambassadors and are inviting current students, both undergraduate and postgraduate taught, to apply to join the FHASS team to support our events.
This vacancy is specifically for those currently studying a subject within FHASS's School of Arts..
We are seeking ambassadors for: Architecture, Design, English Literature and Creative Writing, Fine Art, Film, Media, Theatre, Creative Industries.

As a FHASS Student Ambassador, you will have the exciting opportunity to represent your discipline, and the University, engage with prospective students, and be a vital part of our ambassador community. Your responsibilities will include sharing your personal experiences, leading campus tours, participating in events, and providing valuable insights to prospective students and guests. This role is perfect for enthusiastic and motivated students who are passionate about their course, discipline and Lancaster University, and eager to inspire others. You will be joining the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (FHASS) events team, who lead activities such as the Open Day events, Offer Holder Events, personalised visits, Campus Tours and online outreach activities. You will work closely with departments and other central University teams on an ad-hoc basis.
Full training in all aspects of the role will be provided.
Successful candidates must be available to attend training on Tuesday 25 November at 5.00pm - 7.00pm.
You must also be available to work 3 out of the 4 Offer Holder Events and 3 out of the 4 Undergraduate Open Day Events on the following dates in 2026*:

  • Saturday 31 January
  • Saturday 28 February
  • Saturday 14 March
  • Saturday 11 April
  • Saturday 27 June
  • Saturday 11 July
  • Saturday 03 October
  • Saturday 17 October
*We will try our best to allocate you to your preferred dates, however, this may not be possible due to availability.
For any dates not in term time, we are currently able to cover travel and provide accommodation** when needed.
**Accommodation and travel are on a first-come, first-served basis and is only available for those travelling a considerable distance within the UK and within a set cost.

This team will be comprised of current undergraduate and postgraduate Lancaster University students who will create content that showcases their student life here including filming and editing videos, writing blogs, and photography.

  • Opportunity to support any online events including webinars and live stream tours (Optional)

Represent your subject, School and Lancaster University to the highest possible standard, engage with prospective students, and be a vital part of our campus community
Share positive experiences and enthusiasm for Higher Education and Lancaster University, specifically at events and activities throughout the year
Act as an Ambassador for your subject, School and the University, promoting its ethos, opportunities and services and enhancing its reputation at events
Answer any questions that visitors may have professionally and positively, and share personal experiences of your studies and life in Lancaster
Have good knowledge of Lancaster University and be able to share this knowledge with visitors
Support and assist at events where required, e.g. Open Days; Offer Holder Events, with subject talks, taster sessions, set up
and set down of equipment for each event
Work as part of a team and lead by example, delivering consistently good service
Attend compulsory training and briefing sessions where required
Assist with any other duties as may reasonably be required by the recruitment and events team
Person Specification
Education
You must be registered as a current BA or MA Lancaster University degree student studying a course within the (Essential)
