About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and technically skilled
Fibre & Internet Home Installation Engineer
to join our team. You will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining fibre broadband and internet services at residential properties. The role requires a strong understanding of fibre optic technology, home networking, and excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
Install and commission
fibre broadband services
(FTTP/FTTH) and home internet equipment.
Perform fibre cable routing, splicing, termination, and testing to ensure quality service.
Set up and configure routers, Wi-Fi systems, and home networks.
Carry out surveys to determine the best installation routes and methods.
Diagnose and resolve faults related to fibre, copper, or in-home internet systems.
Ensure all work complies with
health & safety regulations
and industry standards.
Educate customers on equipment use, Wi-Fi optimisation, and available services.
Accurately complete job sheets, reports, and update digital systems after each installation.
Maintain tools, splicing kits, and testing equipment in good working order.
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in
fibre optic installation, broadband, or telecom engineering
.
Knowledge of
FTTP/FTTH networks, fibre splicing, OTDR testing, and cable management
.
Strong understanding of
home Wi-Fi and networking setups
.
Ability to work at heights, use power tools, and carry out cable routing safely.
Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Full UK driving licence (essential).
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including occasional weekends.
Qualifications
NVQ Level 2/3 in Telecommunications, Fibre Optics, or related discipline (preferred).
Valid NRSWA O1 (SLG), SA001, SA002, SA007, S7, S8, SA020, SA051C and First Aid certifications are required.
Manufacturer or ISP-specific training (e.g., Openreach accreditation) is mendatory.
