About You and the Role
An exciting new opportunity has arisen within Draycott, we are looking for a Field Care Supervisor to take the next step in their career. The purpose of this role is to ensure that clients of Draycott Nursing & Care receive the highest standards of care in the comfort of their own homes, ensuring their safety, comfort, dignity, and well-being at all times.
You will also support carer facing activity including training, competency assessments, supervisions, conduct follow ups, inducting to new packages. In addition you will support client facing activity including field complaints, quality checks, audits, kits reviews, care plan updates - and delegated activity by the clinical team.
Finally supporting our Quality Improvement plans, as well as stepping into urgent packages of care, to support mobilisation or client retention and provide cover for key business activities are all part of this role.
Key Duties
General
The efficient and smooth running of care services in a designated area, including the supervision of care assistants.
Ensuring Draycott Nursing & Care delivers safe, effective, and personalized care that meets each client's unique needs and preferences.
Promoting the dignity, privacy, and independence of clients while delivering care services that reflect the values of Draycott Nursing & Care.
Client centred care
Conduct Assessments: Lead Comprehensive initial assessments with clients (and/or their representatives) to understand their care needs, preferences, and goals, along with carrying out thorough risk assessments.
Develop Personalised Care Plans: Create tailored care and support plans that reflect the client's wishes, while also implementing risk control measures. Ensure these care plans are kept up to date to reflect any changes in client needs.
Inform and Educate Clients: Provide clear and accessible information to clients and their families about the care services they will receive, so they fully understand the process and know how to raise concerns if needed.
Ensure Confidentiality: Safeguard all client information, ensuring that confidentiality is maintained in accordance with data protection laws and Draycott policies.
Staff Leadership and Development
Provide Guidance and Support: Supply care assistants with the necessary information, resources, and guidance to safely and effectively deliver care in line with agreed care plans.
Coordinate Care Delivery: Work closely with Care Coordinators to assign care assistants to clients based on compatibility and care requirements. Personally attend the first visit to introduce the care assistant and ensure a smooth handover.
Supervise and Train: Lead the supervision, mentoring, and training of care assistants, helping them to develop professionally and maintain high standards of care.
Emergency Support: Participate in the on-call emergency rota, addressing issues such as covering shifts in case of staff sickness or absence. Ensure all emergency calls are properly recorded and communicated to the relevant parties.
Complete field-based competencies on medication and moving and handling
Operational excellence and quality assurance
Continuous Improvement: Investigate any service quality concerns and implement corrective actions to maintain Draycott's high standards of care.
Quality Reviews: Regularly review care services delivered to clients, conducting performance assessments of care assistants through home visits, ensuring compliance with Draycott's protocols.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure care is delivered in accordance with regulatory requirements, including the Mental Capacity Act (2005) for England and Wales or the Adults with Incapacity Act (2000) for Scotland.
Incident Management: Ensure that accidents and incidents are reported, recorded, and acted upon in a timely manner, following company policies and procedures.
Collaborative, Flexible and Adaptable Teamworking
Engage with Stakeholders: Work closely with clients, families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues within Draycott Nursing & Care to provide seamless and integrated homecare services.
Team Leadership: Lead and participate in team meetings, contributing to discussions around client care, staff development, and operational improvements.
Training and Development: Play an active role in staff training, appraisals, and professional development sessions, fostering a learning environment within Draycott Nursing & Care.
Work Flexibly: Adapt to the changing needs of the business and clients by working flexibly, including outside regular hours when required, to ensure continuity of care.
Live-In Care Assignments: Organize and manage staff handovers and briefings for live-in care services, ensuring smooth transitions between caregivers.
Previous Experience / Skills/role requirement
Minimum 3 years hands on care experience
Must hold an NVQ Level 2 (ideally Level 3 in Health and Social Care qualification)
Enhanced DBS
Driver's License: A full UK driver's license with no more than six points and valid Class 1 business insurance is desirable
Experience in providing care services and supporting individuals with their daily living needs.
Experience supervising the delivery of social care services, including managing live-in care assignment.
Experience with risk assessment and personalized care planning.
Strong administrative skills with the ability to write clear, concise care plans, risk assessments, and maintain accurate records.
Proven ability to manage a team, offering guidance, training, and constructive feedback to maintain a high standard of care.
Computer literate with the ability to manage administrative duties efficiently.
Effective communication skills and empathy toward the varying issues faced by our clients
Have excellent customer service skills that are compatible with VIP client delivery
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, using initiative to respond to emergencies.
Ability to maintain high standards with excellent listening skills
