Job Overview


We are seeking a full-time Field Installer / Fitter to join our small team and take a hands-on lead in the installation of wastewater treatment machinery across sites in the South West of England.

This permanent position is ideal for an experienced and motivated individual with a strong background in mechanical plant installation. While experience in the wastewater industry is an advantage, it is not essential - we welcome candidates with installation or fitting experience from other sectors. The role involves working onsite to install, fit, and commission a variety of mechanical and electromechanical equipment, ensuring safe and efficient project delivery. Key Responsibilities:



Perform mechanical installation and commissioning of wastewater treatment equipment in accordance with project specifications. Lead and coordinate on-site installation activities, working independently or in collaboration with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients. Support machinery testing and commissioning processes to ensure optimal operational performance. Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues during and after installation to ensure system reliability and high levels of customer service. Adhere strictly to all site-specific health, safety, and environmental regulations. Prepare and complete all required documentation, including detailed service records and handover reports.

Requirements:



Proven experience with mechanical installations or fitting, ideally gained in industrial settings - experience within the wastewater industry is advantageous but not essential. Good knowledge of pumps, motors, pipework, valves, and related mechanical systems. Ability to read mechanical drawings and follow installation plans. Ability to take the lead in the organisation of workshops, including coordinating logistics and ensuring all preparations are in place. Responsible for managing inventory of materials and confirming all components are available and in proper condition. Ensure everything is in order prior to installation to support a smooth and efficient process. Valid CSCS card or equivalent (preferred) Full UK driving licence. Willingness to travel throughout the South West region as required. Self-driven, well-organised, and confident in leading onsite work.

Pay: 25,000.00-36,000.00 per year
