Field Service Electrician

to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot solar panel systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. This is a

field-based, hands-on role

that requires strong technical knowledge and a proactive approach.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out scheduled inspections and servicing of solar PV systems to ensure maximum efficiency and longevity Identify faults in solar panels, inverters, and associated wiring. Use testing equipment to troubleshoot and repair issues promptly Replace defective components and ensure all repairs meet current electrical regulations and safety standards Support the installation and commissioning of new solar PV systems, ensuring wiring and connections are completed to industry standards Explain technical issues and solutions clearly to customers, provide advice on system upgrades, and maintain a professional, courteous approach at all times Implement and monitor safety protocols on-site, ensuring a safe working environment for all Maintain accurate service records, complete detailed reports on system performance and repairs, and share feedback to improve processes Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify opportunities for efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction improvements

Essential Skills & Experience

18th Edition

NVQ Level 3

2391 Test & Inspection

2+ years in domestic electrical works

Full UK Driving Licence

Must live in or near Bristol, Gloucester, or Hereford

Desirable:

Solar PV wiring experience Battery storage installation 2372 or 2399 qualification
