Job description
Due to continuing growth, MELCAL are looking to expand our service team of Field Service Engineers to install, commissioning, inspect and maintain our manufactured cranes both nationally and internationally.
We are interested to hear from Service Engineers with proven experience and background in an electrical and hydraulic discipline who work well as part of a team but are comfortable working alone. Service Engineers with experience with cranes or lifting devices are welcome but full product training will be provided.
As our Service Engineer your role will be to:
Install, commission, inspect and maintain MELCAL Marine and Offshore Cranes both onshore and offshore, nationally and internationally.
Travel when required and sometimes at short notice.
Ensure equipment, inspections, checklists and any other service documentation are all completed correctly and in a timely manner.
Observe all quality, health and safety rules and procedures.
Carry out work to a high standard and in accordance with given instructions.
Continuous Learning. Complete training and skills requirements as requested.
Feedback and report any issues with equipment or client comments.
Ensure all equipment, machinery and tools are fit for purpose, safe for use and used correctly.
Preferred candidates will have:
Electrical and Hydraulic qualification or background.
Experience in crane operations, fault finding and maintenance.
Awareness of lifting rules and regulations.
Offshore & Onshore Training (BOSIET, MIST, GWO, Working at Height, LOLER, PUWER, ATEX)
Understanding of electrical installation, testing and fault finding.
Understanding of bolt torqueing procedure and tooling.
Understanding of hydraulic hose assemblies and fittings.
Understanding of configuration and installation of wire rope, rigging and fittings.
Understanding of operation and maintenance of hydraulic cylinders.
Ability to carry out risk assessments and method statements.
