Field Service Engineer
to keep our customers running smoothly and help us grow.
What you'll do
You'll split your time between field work at customer sites, workshop/warehouse repairs & restocking, and the support helpdesk:
Install & commission
EPOS/ECR hardware and software (ICRTouch, kiosks, online ordering apps), digital signage, CCTV/security and selected catering and warewash equipment.
Diagnose, repair & maintain
equipment on?site and in?house; keep accurate job notes and parts usage.
Train end?users
on EPOS software and equipment with best practice.
Support
: Assist the helpdesk with remote triage and fixes when needed.
Stock & van care
: Maintain van and workshop stock levels; follow H&S procedures.
Customer care & brand
: Be a professional, friendly face of
BCR Wales
.
Tools & support:
You'll have a dedicated van, fuel card, calibrated tools and test gear, plus access to experienced colleagues and structured training.
Safety first:
You'll be trained and signed off in UK
electrical safe isolation
and correct use of test equipment. (EAWR 1989 / BS 7671 principles; prove dead with GS38?compliant instruments and a proving unit.)
What you'll bring
We hire for attitude and potential; full training is provided. You'll succeed if you have:
Curiosity and a practical, fault?finding mindset.
Basic IT confidence: Windows, networking fundamentals (IP addressing, cabling, switches/routers).
PAT Testing certification
or willingness to gain it (we'll provide training).
Basic DBS certificate
(company?funded) due to client sites (care homes, schools, etc.).
A full UK driving licence. and ability to meet our
25+ vehicle insurance
requirement.
Clear communication in English (Welsh welcome but not essential).
Nice to have (not required):
experience in EPOS field service, electrical/electronic service, warewashing, CCTV/digital signage, or similar commercial tech.
Safety & compliance (training provided)
We work safely. You'll be trained and signed?off in
safe isolation of electrical installations
and correct use of test equipment in line with UK guidance.
Working pattern, on?call & travel
37.5 hours, Monday-Friday, with flexibility for early/late jobs.
Weekend / bank holiday on?call
(post?training only): mainly at home with laptop/mobile on the same hourly rate; call?outs paid as a standard 2?hour minimum regardless of time. Option of day in lieu instead of extra pay.
Company van for business use; fuel card and tools provided.
Pay, progression & perks
Salary:
35,000+ OTE. Basic + overtime opportunities.
Commission:
share of monthly rental/maintenance income and sales, based on hours contribution.
