About the Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our generators and equipment operate at peak performance.

Reporting to the Depot Foreman, you'll spend approximately 80% of your time in the field, servicing client sites, and 20% in our depot, supporting maintenance and repair tasks.

This role offers a mix of hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and customer interaction, with the chance to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

Service and maintain generators both on-site and at the depot. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in control panels and AC/DC electrical systems. Perform mechanical and electrical repairs to ensure equipment reliability. Synchronise generator systems for seamless operation. Participate in an on-call rota, (to include some bank holidays) Communicate professionally with customers to deliver exceptional service. Complete daily vehicle checks and maintain accurate service records (e.g., service sheets, pre-delivery inspection forms). Adhere to & uphold company health and safety standards at all times.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a motivated and organised individual with:

An NVQ in Plant Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent qualification. Experience in the generator, plant hire, or similar industry. A full UK driving license (held for at least 3 years). Strong prioritisation skills to meet weekly service schedules. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision. Excellent communication skills to engage with customers and colleagues. A commitment to delivering outstanding customer service. A forklift license is a plus (training provided if needed).
