Field Service Engineer

Are you a skilled engineer with a passion for problem-solving and hands-on work? At Harrison Hire & Sales, we're looking for a motivated Field Service Engineer to join our growing team. You'll play a vital role in keeping our customers' equipment running smoothly, with the opportunity to work on a wide range of machinery both in our workshop and out in the field.

What We Offer

Competitive Salary:

Up to 35,000 (depending on experience and suitability)

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm

Generous Holiday:

28 days annual leave (including bank holidays)

Service Van:

Fully equipped van for use on customer visits

Tools:

You'll bring your own hand tools - we'll provide power tools and trade-specific equipment

Work alongside experienced engineers and industry specialists

The Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for the

PDI,

maintenance, repair, refurbishment, installation, and testing

of a wide variety of equipment, including:

Pressure Washers

- Mains powered (single & 3 phase) and engine driven (petrol & diesel)

Floor Cleaning Machines

- Battery-powered, mains powered, petrol, diesel & LPG driven

Mobile Brush Washes

- Engine driven (diesel) and battery powered

Industrial Vacuums

- Single & 3 phase

Custom Builds

- Assembly and testing of bespoke pressure washer systems
You'll also carry out the installation of fixed cleaning systems, ensuring work is completed to a high standard of safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out scheduled servicing, repairs, and refurbishments both on-site and at customer premises Diagnose faults using technical drawings and supplier resources Ensure your service van is well-stocked, safe, and organised Provide technical advice and customer support both in person and over the phone Assist with machine preparation for demonstrations, sales, and pre-delivery inspections (PDI) Maintain a clean and safe workspace in line with health and safety standards Support the wider team with occasional workshop tasks and accessory assembly

What We're Looking For

Previous engineering or mechanical experience (preferably in service/repair) Ability to work independently and liaise with our service manager A practical problem-solver with a strong attention to detail Excellent communication skills with colleagues, suppliers, and customers

Full UK Driving Licence

(essential) Own set of hand tools (power tools provided)
