This position is Field Based and will be located in the Manchester area. The role holder will need to be prepared to travel at short notice and will need a full clean local driving license.



Provide on-site support for the Instron product range, including, but not limited to installation, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting of Electro Mechanical and Servo Hydraulic materials testing systems and other after sales warranty services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Proactively look for leads for new machines, accessories and other services.
  • Be familiar with the company\xe2\x80\x99s product life cycle in order to be able to advise customers regarding obsolescence.
  • Report on competitive equipment and activities at customer sites.
  • Ensure that adequate preparation and planning is made before each visit so that the job is completed correctly without the need for further follow up visits.
  • Ensure that planning for visits including travel is carried out in the most cost-efficient way.
  • Deliver basic Instron software training to customers, when required.
  • Responsible for quality of own work.
  • Ensure all administration is accurate and up to date, to the latest company requirements using the tools provided.
  • To submit expenses and other paperwork within the required timeframe.
  • Contribute to the company\'s efforts to improve customer satisfaction, reduce costs and improve quality using the ITW Toolbox and other processes as required.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as may from time to time be requested.
Qualifications
  • HNC or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline
  • Ability to pick up technical training, processes and systems quickly
  • Good working knowledge and fault-finding experience with both electro-mechanical and servo hydraulic systems
  • Ability to safely calibrate competitor systems
  • Basic awareness of costs and own impact on margin
  • Flexible, resilient, open minded
  • Computer literate
  • Well organized with good time management skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Team player.
  • Customer oriented.
  • Ability to travel at short notice.
  • Self-starter: be pro-active and able to work with minimum supervision
  • 2 years\' experience in a similar role
