SNB are the largest UK based independent supplier of bespoke product inspection equipment in the UK. The product inspection SNB offer includes Metal Detection, X-Ray, and Checkweighing systems which are manufactured at our head office in Sherburn in Elmet and supported by our other location in Luton. Each system is bespoke to the customers' requirements, application and product. Therefore this role offers the applicant a diverse role. Our bespoke systems are manufactured for different environments such as food, chemical, pharmaceutical, packaging and textile industries. We are proud to work with the leading manufacturers within the UK's food industry.



Due to continued growth we are recruiting for an experienced Service Engineers who can, following a period of training hit the ground running. Predominantly the geographical coverage for this role would be Southern and Midland Areas however you would become part of a team of Engineers covering the whole of the UK. Applicants will need to be located around our Luton Office but within a commutable distance from it.



As a Field Service Engineer you will be responsible for providing a high level of Customer Service to our customers mostly within the UK. This will include all aspects of service work, including breakdown repairs, commissioning, upgrades, equipment calibrations and general servicing / maintenance work. Whilst the majority of activity will be carried out at our customer's sites, you will be expected to carryout work in our Luton facility. All work will need to be completed to a high quality standard and to the current good practices. As part of this you will also be required to undertake all aspects of SNB's activity as business needs dictate



KEY DUTIES:



Fault finding on complex machinery to include but not limited to electrical wiring, electro-mechanical and electronic rectification.

To carry out on customer site repairs, commissioning, service and calibration of customer's inspection equipment to the stated processes and procedures.

Carry out upgrades and refurbishments to existing equipment on customer sites

Handle on site customer queries in a fair and courteous manner.

Must be prepared to adapt to all types of environments and comply with local client's health and safety regulations

Completing all necessary paperwork accurately and on a timely basis in accordance with the company procedures

Expected to co-operate by working overtime as and when required

To be part of the on-call standby/weekend rota system

Must be prepared to learn a diverse set of products from differing brands and continually improve your product knowledge


REQUIRED SKILLS:



Experience in a Field Service Role (ideally within the Food Industry)

Excellent Electronic knowledge together with good Electrical skills

Experience of product inspection and/or conveyor systems

Methodical approach to problem solving

Ability to work independently but also as part of a multidisciplinary team

Full current UK driving licence

Excellent communication skills & Customer focus

Attention to detail is essential

IT literate, Windows, Excel & Word

Track-record of success in a similar role


DESIRABLE SKILLS:



Qualification in Electronic Engineering

PLC programming and knowledge of PC hardware an advantage

Knowledge of the food manufacturing industry


Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 30,000.00-40,000.00 per year
