We are recruiting for a Field Service Engineer who will support the successful implementation of both planned preventative maintenance visits and emergency callouts/customer repairs. The role involves liaising with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external to ensure that customer expectations are met, systems are maintained, faults are quickly identified and rectified, and downtime is kept to a minimum. The role also involves the completion of appropriate paperwork, in-house jobs, CRM updates and the stripping down of systems for parts.
Responsibilities
Undertaking planned maintenance visits to customer sites carrying out routine services in line with the relevant procedure
Ensuring that all quality checks are undertaken, and relevant paperwork is signed off by the customer whilst on site
Completing all paperwork in a timely manner and submitting to the team of Service Coordinators for jobs to be completed within the CRM
Attending customer sites to investigate and repair system faults, using the information provided on the appropriate Service Report Form (SRF)
Ensuring parts are correctly labelled and sent back to Probo at the end of each job. If parts need to be collected from site, these need to be highlighted to the Storeman
To provide technical support to customers as required
To support with the stripping down of systems for parts, in line with the agreed procedure
To undertake QA checks of systems arriving at Probo, including any data deletion that may be required
To undertake in-house services and customer repairs as required
To maintain the CRM and ensure that information is kept up to date and accurate
Experience/Skills
Higher level engineering qualification - HNC/HND, BEng or equivalent
Medical engineering experience in the relevant modality/modalities and across a range of different systems
Building and maintaining productive relationships, including those with customers and suppliers
High level of Literacy and Numeracy
Well-developed negotiation and engagement skills.
An understanding of electronic systems and processes
Excellent fault finding and diagnostic skills
Excellent IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Office
The ability to interpret complex instructions and system manuals
Ability to make considered logical and rational decisions in a timely manner and communicate them clearly.
Ability to manage expectations and tensions, including having difficult or challenging conversations
