About the role:
We're looking for a motivated and hands-on Field Service Technician to join our Operations team in Dundee.
You will play a key role in installing, maintaining, and repairing Ace Aquatec's products across the UK and internationally. Our technologies are used in challenging marine environments, so attention to detail, technical skill, and adaptability are essential.
Your time will be split between our Dundee workshop and customer sites, and you'll occasionally be required to travel at short notice. The role offers a mix of fieldwork, customer interaction, and workshop-based technical support - ideal for someone who enjoys variety and problem-solving.
What you'll be doing:
Install, maintain, and repair Ace Aquatec's equipment, including acoustic deterrents, electric stunners, biomass cameras, and sea lice removal systems.
Provide responsive and friendly on-site support to customers, representing Ace Aquatec's values of professionalism and care.
Collaborate with the Technical Support team to ensure fast resolution of service and equipment issues.
Assist Sales and Marketing colleagues with technical support when required.
Assemble, test, and troubleshoot prototype and production equipment.
Contribute to new product development projects alongside engineers and suppliers.
Apply safe working practices and maintain a well-organised workshop environment.
Uphold the company's high standards for quality, safety, and environmental responsibility.
What we're looking for:
Recognised qualification in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering (e.g. HNC, SVQ, or equivalent).
Experience in industrial electrical/electronic work, in both field and workshop settings.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
High attention to detail when assembling and maintaining equipment for harsh or marine environments.
Competent use of MS Office and general IT systems.
Full UK driving licence.Experience in mechanical engineering.
Background in aquaculture, agriculture, marine, or offshore industries.
Familiarity with small hand tools, multimeters, and workshop test equipment.
Good knowledge of health and safety practices and 5S workshop standards.
Enthusiasm for continuous improvement and innovation.
Valid passport and willingness to travel frequently, including periods away from home.
