Overview



Abraham Solicitors is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented

Housing Disrepair File Handler / Fee Earner

to join our growing pre-litigation team. The successful candidate will manage their own caseload of housing disrepair matters, working closely with clients, landlords, and internal teams to progress claims efficiently. This role offers strong development potential, including exposure to litigation and ongoing professional growth within a supportive law-firm environment.

While we offer some flexibility for working from home, this is a

hybrid role

, and the successful candidate is expected to attend the office

at least three days per week

.

Key Responsibilities



Manage a personal caseload of

housing disrepair pre-litigation files

from instruction to settlement. Conduct initial client interviews, gather evidence, and assess claim viability. Draft correspondence, letters of claim, schedules of disrepair, and other legal documentation. Liaise with surveyors, experts, defendants, and third parties to progress cases. Ensure compliance with relevant protocols, internal procedures, and regulatory standards. Maintain accurate and up-to-date file notes and case management records. Support the litigation team by preparing files for issue when required. Deliver excellent client care and maintain a high standard of communication throughout the claims process.

Requirements



Essential:



Experience working in a

law firm

or legal services environment. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy caseload. Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Desirable:



Prior experience handling

housing disrepair claims

. Familiarity with pre-litigation processes and civil procedure. Experience using case management systems.

Pay: 17,567.97-32,022.36 per year
