Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a solid understanding of legal procedures. As a Legal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal professionals by managing documentation, conducting research, and ensuring the smooth operation of our office. You will undertake an extremely varied role, working principally on a wide range of commercial contracts and also dealing with additional ad hoc day to day legal issues as and when they arise. An ideal candidates will have some basic knowledge of scripted production, licensing and commissions across film, tv and theatre.

Responsibilities



Assist lawyers in preparing for trials, hearings, and meetings by organising case files and documentation. Draft and proofread legal documents, including contracts, briefs, and correspondence. Maintain an organised filing system for both electronic and paper documents to ensure easy retrieval. Conduct legal research to support case preparation and provide relevant information as needed. Manage schedules, appointments, and deadlines using Microsoft Outlook and other office software. Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal matters. Utilise Microsoft Word and Excel for document creation and data management. Ensure compliance with legal procedures and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Qualifications



Previous experience as a legal or executive assistant, office manager or administrator Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and readiness to quickly learn new software and AI tools Ability to simplify and improve legal and contracting processes Ability to update legal resources Great organizational and project management skills, and ability to work independently Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Familiarity with IT systems relevant to legal practices is advantageous. Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
