Job Description

Imberhorne is a truly comprehensive school, providing an extensive academic curriculum from Years 7 to 13, alongside an enviable range of extra-curricular activities designed to appeal to the widest interests.
Students in Years 7 to 9 are educated on the site of the former East Grinstead Grammar School on Windmill Lane, which provides a nurturing environment for their first three years with us.
Years 10 and 11 and our large Sixth Form are based at our Imberhorne Lane site, which has all the specialist facilities and teaching spaces needed for the wide range of examination courses we offer.
The majority of staff teach across both sites. We currently have 1630 students on roll, including 270 in our Sixth Form. We are keen for our students to develop into well-rounded young people, with the academic knowledge, character and interpersonal skills they need to take their place as active citizens in society.

Finance & Admin Assistant
Salary: NJC Grade 3: Spine Point 3-4.
Pro-rata salary: 5,645 - 5,733 per annum
Hours: 10 hours per week, Term Time Only (38 weeks)
As a busy and thriving secondary school, we are seeking to recruit an efficient and proactive individual to join our team. Flexibility and good communication skills are essential assets that will help you to best meet the changing needs of the school community and the daily demands.
In this role you will, undertake general financial administration such as processing orders, collecting monies, banking etc, data input into the schools MIS system, respond to a range of enquiries, both email and face to face, from staff and parents, assist with maintaining the finance filing system, ensuring that records are suitable for auditing purposes, and assist with other general administration tasks as required.
What You Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Good understanding of day to day
administrative activities within a finance environment and the skills to undertake these with speed and accuracy. * Knowledge of a range of IT applications and the practical ability to utilise these efficiently within the workplace.
  • Equivalent of GCSE A-C in English and Maths
  • Effective interpersonal skills that can be adapted based on the audience, coupled with an ability to manage difficult conversations and potential conflict.
  • Able to work autonomously, organising and prioritising work, even when under pressure, to meet deadlines and unplanned situations.
  • Able to work flexibly and constructively a part of a team, contributing to maintaining a positive and enabling environment
  • Commitment to enhancing and developing skills and knowledge through CPD.
