The Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich is seeking an experienced Finance Administrator to join its Ipswich-based Finance Team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate and timely data input, data extraction and basic analysis, as directed by the Senior Finance Manager and will assist them in the production of monthly Management Accounts and balance sheet reconciliations. As such, you will need to have a basic understanding of accounting principles and be comfortable working with large volumes of data and in a timely and accurate manner.
A friendly, accountable, helpful and detail-orientated personality are more important than formal accounting qualifications, but the knowledge required in the role means that you will need to be either AAT qualified, working towards AAT or be qualified by experience. Importantly, you will also need to demonstrate your proven ability to work with grace under pressure to meet targets and deadlines and to re-prioritise your work as necessary. A genuine desire to build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, take ownership for solving problems and a willingness to answer queries in a helpful, positive and encouraging way are also essential.
The DBF is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. All post holders and volunteers are expected to share this commitment.
