The Finance Assistant role involves supporting the Accounting & Finance department within the FMCG industry by supporting with monthly end and year-end stat accounts, analysing financial data and assisting in decision-making processes. Based in Edinburgh, this permanent position offers the opportunity to contribute to financial planning and reporting in a fast-paced environment.

• Assisting with month end management and year-end statutory accounts including intercompany transactions
• Including preparation and review of subsidiary monthly management accounts
• Supporting consolidation of Group accounts
• Supporting statutory audit
• Support budget and forecasting processes with specific focus on cashflow forecasting
• Production of financial reports to provide useful information for stakeholders via various systems
• Data uploading of info from one system to another including VAT returns
• Reviewing and processing payroll for a division
• Updating and maintaining departmental processes and procedures

A successful Finance Assistant should have:

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Wide range of working with various systems to have gained a strong understanding and capability
• Strong competency in excel
• Technical accounting knowledge
• Enthusiastic and self-starter
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Good communicator and team worker but also able to work on their own

• Salary ranging from 28,000 to 30,000 per annum.
