The Role




We are looking for a

Finance Analyst

to join the Finance team in the Football department. Providing support with analysis, management accounts, accounting/tax support and across other team responsibilities.


You'll play a vital role within a team responsible for financial management and reporting to ensure compliance, providing our club with robust support services around the reporting of financial information, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, monitoring and payrolls.

Your day-to-day



Manage budgeting and forecasting

- you'll be preparing budgets in partnership with the Finance and Management teams, ensuring all assumptions are challenged and best practice budgeting principles are applied

Monitor performance and variances

- you'll be producing in-year forecasts and annual reforecasts, analysing variances against budget to provide valuable insight into financial performance

Produce monthly management accounts

- you'll take ownership of the monthly management accounts process, ensuring timely, accurate reporting that supports key decision-making across our Football departments

Support business partnering

- you'll be working closely with Finance Managers to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders across Highbury House, Sobha Realty Training Centre, Hale End, and support departments within our Women's First Team, Men's First Team and Men's Academy

Assist month-end and compliance activities

- you'll support month-end journal postings, maintain reconciliations between core systems, and assist with VAT and tax reporting requirements

Support capital expenditure and business cases

- you'll contribute to the production and tracking of CAPEX reports and support the preparation of business cases for capital projects, ensuring robust financial justification

Deliver accurate project and headcount reporting

- you'll help maintain accurate reporting of CAPEX project progress, manage the headcount tracker, investigate variances, and keep our People team and Finance teams informed of changes

Provide ad-hoc analysis and project support

- you'll assist the Finance Manager and Financial Controller with ad-hoc projects, reporting, and administrative tasks to drive continuous improvement across the finance function

What we are looking for



Hold/Actively pursuing accounting qualification

- you have or are currently studying towards a recognised qualification such as CIMA or ACCA, with a great track record of success in the early stages of your exams

Experience in commercial finance

- you have experience working in a commercial or operational finance environment, ideally with exposure to budget holders and hands-on involvement in management accounting processes

Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills

- you're confident performing bookkeeping tasks, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, and delivering insightful financial analysis that supports decision making

Advanced Excel and systems knowledge

- you're highly proficient in Excel and comfortable using finance systems

Organised and deadline-focused approach

- you're able to manage competing priorities, work accurately under pressure, and consistently meet month-end and reporting deadlines

Collaborative and communicative mindset

- you enjoy working with both finance and non-finance colleagues, communicating clearly to resolve issues and build positive relationships across departments and sites

Curious, proactive and solution-oriented individual

- you bring enthusiasm, initiative, and a continuous improvement mindset, always seeking opportunities to enhance processes and follow through on challenges to completion
