THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping global finance transactional processes for Record to Report at BBC Studios.




In this role, you'll be accountable for defining and enhancing financial processes, ensuring data accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across the business. You'll oversee master data maintenance, ensuring alignment with target models, and work closely with teams to monitor end-to-end process performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and standardisation.




You'll support the implementation of ICFR, helping deploy technical solutions, controls, and processes while ensuring that system designs meet business needs. Additionally, you'll play a crucial role in managing interactions with Outsourcers, acting as the key contact for third-party issues impacting local teams.






Key Responsibilities:






Process Standardisation & Governance - Drive consistency across R2R, collaborating with stakeholders, Outsourcers, and Global Process Owners (GPOs) to improve efficiency and compliance. Automation & Continuous Improvement - Support process re-engineering, system optimisation, and seamless implementation of ICFR, Centralisation of Journals, Blackline reconciliations, reporting, and act as Product Owner for SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) dashboards. Ensure timely and effective delivery of change requests. Audit & Compliance - Liaise with internal/external auditors, ensure balance sheet reconciliation quality, and oversee financial reporting controls. Stakeholder Collaboration - Work closely with Finance leaders, Technology teams, BPO teams, Divisional Finance, Global sales teams, Global purchasing teams, Group Treasury, LABA, and Talent Accounting, and wider BBC to align processes with business needs. Training & Documentation - Maintain process manuals, lead training initiatives, and manage Superuser teams to ensure best practices.






Scope & Impact:



Role is based in London with oversight across EMEA, ANZ, Asia, and Americas, reporting directly to the Global Process Owner. Monitor SLAs and KPIs with Outsourcers, ensuring service excellence. Influence and align cross-functional teams to drive process improvements.






Key Relationships:



Close partnership with Head of Internal Controls, Director of Financial Operations, and other Global Process Owners. Engaging with Global Sales, Purchasing, Treasury, Tax, Operations & Technology. Ad hoc support for Britbox International, Indies, BBCS Production, UKTV, and SPVs.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:






Knowledge of business and data analysis practice, tools and techniques such as: requirements engineering, structured analysis and design, process mapping and component business modelling, business process re-engineering and benefits mapping and realisation. Ability to simplify and translate complex problems, processes or projects into component parts and be able to explore them systematically. Effective communication skills, with an ability to influence and align a diverse group senior stakeholders; throughout the organisation in multiple locations. Experience of large ERP systems and associated processes (SAP ECC6 / S/4 Hana and BPC) within relevant process area and integration points with other process areas Demonstrable evidence of implementing process standardisation and improvement, with global roll-out Experience and extensive knowledge of business operations in a complex, global business, across multiple areas of finance and outsourced function Experience of control and compliance in a global finance environment Change management skillset to understand what changes have to be made and how to drive them at every level Project / Programme Management experience Strong Excel skills Able to prioritise and multi-task, engaging cross functional support to meet objectives to deadlines.






DESIRABLE CRITERIA:






Professional qualification or working towards (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, ICM or similar) is desirable Previous Controls & ICFR experience desirable
