What you'll do
As a member of the Retail Costs Finance team at Sainsbury's, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Labour function. As a Finance Business Partner, you will interpret management reporting to provide valuable insight, analysis, and commentary to stakeholders, challenging the business as needed. You will be responsible for identifying risks, anomalies, and opportunities, prioritising them, and working with the business to manage them effectively. A key aspect of this role will be ensuring alignment between multiple stakeholders by delivering clear and robust analysis in a timely manner. You will also collaborate with internal teams, such as our data team, to complete analysis and resolve business problems. Additionally, you will work closely with the Retail Reporting team, Change team and Centrals team to develop uniformity of reporting and performance evaluation across all Retail channels. As a Trainee or Qualified Accountant, you will bring strong financial control and commercial acumen to the role, using your Excel and numerical skills to turn data into actionable insights. Your effective communication skills and ability to work autonomously will be vital, as you support the business in making decisions that enhance performance and contribute to Store Operating Profit and EBIT.
Who you are
As a Finance Analyst - Labour, you are a Trainee or Qualified Accountant with a strong commercial acumen and a track record of delivering strong financial control. Your expertise in turning data into insightful analysis and your ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels make you a valuable asset in supporting the business in making informed decisions that enhance performance. With your self-motivated and detail-oriented approach, you excel in prioritising tasks, solving problems, and maintaining accuracy. Your strong Excel skills, data and numerical aptitude enable you to provide valuable insights, support strategic initiatives, and drive improved financial performance across Store Operating Profit and EBIT.
