Job Purpose
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Analyst to join our dynamic accounts team here in Lincoln. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting financial planning, analysis, and reporting across manufacturing, accounts, purchasing, and sales functions. This role is critical in providing financial insight across our manufacturing operations, sales performance, and procurement activities. You'll play a key role in driving efficiency, improving margins, and supporting strategic decisions across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse manufacturing cost structures and variances to support operational efficiency.
Work closely with purchasing and sales teams to track budgets, forecast spending, and evaluate financial impacts of procurement and pricing strategies.
Prepare monthly management reports including P&L, balance sheet, and KPI analysis.
Assist in the development and monitoring of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
Support inventory valuation and ensure accurate costing in ERP systems.
Perform variance analysis (budget vs actual) and investigate anomalies with relevant departments.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
Assist in financial modelling and scenario analysis to support strategic decisions.
Provide sales performance analysis by product line and region.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial regulations.
Liaise with auditors and contribute to year-end financial processes.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Experience
A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a finance analyst or similar role.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to operations, purchasing and sales functions.
Strong analytical skills with a good understanding of standard costing and financial reporting.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g. Sage).
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience in data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL Query).
Understanding of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles.
Experience with stock control and inventory management systems.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Commercial acumen and proactive approach to problem solving.
