As a Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the financial decision-making process of the company. You will be responsible for analysing financial data, preparing reports, and providing valuable insights to guide strategic and operational initiatives working closely with the finance team and Heads of Country. Your expertise will contribute to optimizing financial performance, identifying risks, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
What you'll be doing
As part of your role, your responsibilities will include:Working closely with the Finance Team and Heads of Country to analyse monthly results and performance against budget and prior year, highlighting variances and providing explanations. Assisting with the preparation of detailed financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to provide management with accurate and timely information for decision-making purposes. Analyse financial statements and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas of improvement and recommend strategies for cost reduction and revenue enhancement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop financial models, evaluate investment opportunities, and assess the financial impact of business initiatives. Assist in the preparation of the monthly financial presentations and commentary for the executive team and SGHC. Ad hoc project work which may include for example thorough financial research and analysis on industry trends, competitors, and market conditions such as changes in regulations and entering into new markets to support strategic planning including working closely with Group tax. Work closely with the senior management team to assist in adhoc projects to improve procedures/Sox reporting/month end process for example automating the payroll journals. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, laws, and company policies. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis. Work closely with the treasury and payments team in Cape Town to analyse FX losses and seek to improve efficiencies and maintain group cashflow models.

Essential skills you'll bring to the table
The necessary skills that we require for this role include:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail Proficient in financial modelling, forecasting, and analysis Excellent knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software systems Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively prioritize tasks

Desirable skills you've got up your sleeve
It would be great if you also have some of the following skills:Proficient in Cognos/TM1 Experience in the online gaming industry
