What are we looking for in this position?
Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, analysing performance against forecast, highlighting trends, and identifying opportunities
Regularly produce business cash flow reports and monitor transactions for accurate forecasting
Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
Coordinate and drive the preparation of the annual budget and periodic financial forecasts
Regularly review the company and group financial performance against budget, to ensure costs are controlled and revenue expectations are maintained
Implement and maintain efficient financial procedures, ensuring adequate controls, accurate processing and clear audit trails are maintained
Compile and submit VAT returns for the group and ensure payment is processed in a timely manner
Lead in the preparation of year end and statutory financial accounts
Motivate and guide the finance team, across the wider group, to deliver the agreed business objectives
Identify and implement process improvements across manufacturing, procurement, and service functions.
Lead cross-functional projects to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
Monitor key operational KPIs and drive accountability for performance improvements.
Collaborate with supply chain, production, and service teams to optimise resource allocation and service delivery.
Champion the use of technology and automation to enhance operational capabilities.
Adherence to the company management systems and QHSES responsibilities as defined within the overview and context of the organisation document.
What will we need you to have?
Office-based in Peterborough
Exceptional interpersonal skills and able to successfully communicate with people at all levels, both financial and non-financial
Ability to work in, and adapt to, a rapidly changing environment
Understanding of financial regulations and required controls
A drive for time bound completion of tasks
Ability to prioritise workload
Confidentiality in processing sensitive data
Able to maintain high attention to detail
Numerically and analytically sound.
Fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA)
Prior exposure to financial modelling and FP&A
Demonstrated success in leading operational improvement initiatives.
