Job Description

Schenk UK formally known as Suttons Tankers are an innovative national tanker haulage business, that operates a nationwide road tanker fleet which has been successfully serving the chemicals, gas, fuels, waste, and powders sectors for over 60 years, and is the largest chemical transporter in the UK.

We are looking for an Finance Apprentice to join our team. You will be based at our Widnes office. This is Permanent.


You will be aligned to Finance which will enable you to develop your skills in Finance.


Throughout your apprenticeship programme you will:

Receive Accounting and Finance training through our specialist training provider Gain Certificate Level CIMA Exams Experience training and development in 'soft' skills and 'technical' skills Learn to be part of a high-performing team
As part of your apprenticeship, you will be part of a team with (Finance colleagues) to:

Learn core accounting principles Understand and execute fundamental accounting processes Provide finance support to our customer accounts Provide support and cover core processes in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking and Cash


If successful you would be selected to working in any of the following areas:

Understanding core system sub ledgers; Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Enhanced communication skills dealing with suppliers and customers, Enhanced excel and accounting systems skills.Dealing with Supplier queries and statements Processing invoices and raising Purchase Orders Accounts Receivable Introduction to Credit Control Manual invoicing, chasing payments General Ledger & Bank Posting accounting journals Cash forecasting Bank reconciliation Introduction to balance sheet control Business Unit Finance Support Ensure that key reporting is available to the whole BU finance team Maintenance of revenue files for all the contracts. Assistance in preparing the Balance Sheet Pack data


Skill Requirements:

Good communication skills both written and verbal A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data Deadline-orientated and an ability to stick to time constraints
