Robert Half are pleased to be partnering with an SME based in Banbury to recruit a Finance Assistant. The Finance Assistant will receive a salary of up to 35,000 (potentially negotiable) along with other attractive benefits including 1 day per week working from home and early finish on Fridays!
Primary responsibilities;

  • Reconcile multi-currency bank accounts (GBP, USD, EUR, CAD) in Sage 50
  • Process supplier invoices, credit card payments, and remittance advices
  • Download & reconcile online sales reports (e.g., PayPal, Stripe, Klarna)
  • Manage factory invoices; ensure alignment with purchase orders
  • Manage purchase ledger; tax invoices, credit cards, expenses
  • Handle sales ledger; invoicing, customer allocations, credit limit reviews
  • Monitor and respond to the accounts email inbox, take calls for the finance team
  • Perform credit control and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Process returns and remittance advice from key retail accounts
  • Prepare unreconciled reports and upload supporting documents
  • Run agent commission reports and track payments
  • Submit stock valuation and movement data to accountants
  • Post prepayments, accruals, and overheads
  • Complete FX and bank revaluations
  • Save and maintain P&L and balance sheet reports into shared folders
Key experience and attributes;
  • High attention to detail and financial accuracy
  • Proficient in financial systems (Ideally Sage 50)
  • Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, basic formulas)
  • Organised, deadline-driven, and methodical
  • Able to manage recurring and ad hoc workloads independently
  • Experience with multi-currency transactions and stock movement accounting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • 2-5 years in a finance/accounts role
  • AAT qualified or working towards (preferred)
  • Knowledge of VAT returns and core accounting principles
