Today, we support more than 2,500 retail and hospitality customers, many of whom pay for their insurance on a subscription basis via Stripe. As we continue to expand, maintaining accuracy and insight in our financial reporting is more important than ever.
We're looking for a Finance Assistant who's commercially minded, detail-focused, and motivated to take ownership of key financial and reporting processes. This role is ideal for someone with a foundation in finance or business, whether that's a finance graduate or an early-career professional, as well as those with a few years' experience looking for a new challenge. It's a hands-on position that offers the chance to grow quickly and develop broader responsibility as the business scales.
What the Job Involves
This role can be offered on a full-time basis or at around 0.8 FTE (approximately 30 hours per week), worked over 4 or 5 days in our Brighton office. We believe collaboration and communication are key to success, so this role is based in-house rather than remote.
You'll take ownership of core financial processes, from reconciliation and reporting to supporting business teams with accurate transaction data. Your work will ensure the business has the right financial insight to make confident decisions each month.
Key Responsibilities
Produce accurate monthly Bordereaux and financial reports.
Maintain accurate financial records for policy MTAs, renewals, and cancellations.
Collaborating with accountants to help solve payment discrepancies.
Working across multiple platforms; CRM (Salesforce), Stripe, and Excel
Provide clear monthly transaction summaries and insights to improve reporting accuracy.
Collaborating with front-line staff to ensure accurate processing of customer policies.
Contribute to process improvements, shaping financial processes as the business grows.
What we're looking for
Experience in a finance/accounts role ( insurance operations exposure bonus)
Ideally AAT part-qualified or working towards it)
Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
The ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving business.
Ambition to grow over time and help shape how the finance function evolves
