About The Role
We're looking for a
hands-on Finance Assistant
to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys being involved in the detail of day-to-day finance but also has the skills and experience to produce meaningful management accounts.
This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. Our Head Office is based at Progress Drive Cannock. The package we are offering includes a competitive salary and rewards package including holiday allowance and a Company pension scheme.
The job duties will involve:
Managing day-to-day finance tasks such as bank reconciliations, purchase and sales ledgers, VAT, and CIS.
Producing accurate monthly management accounts, with clear commentary and analysis.
Restructuring reporting to provide key insights into the business performance.
Supporting the wider team to ensure invoices, CIS, and timesheet data are accurate and up to date.
Providing occasional payroll support if the team needs a hand.
Working with our CFO on process improvements and helping us move to Xero from Sage and BrightPay.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a flexible approach to your work and enjoy working as part of a team with:
Strong experience in a finance role, with responsibility for management accounts.
Solid knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT, and CIS.
Qualified to AAT level (or similar), or part-qualified CIMA/ACCA.
Confident with accounting software (Xero preferred)
Strong Excel and reporting skills.
Someone who is proactive, detail-focused, and enjoys improving processes..
Experience in telecoms or highways maintenance sector and/or have used BrightPay or Depotnet before would be an advantage.
