Job Description

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our friendly charity team in a caring and supportive environment. Reporting to the Finance and Operations Manager, you will help deliver an effective finance function and support the wider work of the charity.

The salary is the Full Time Equivalent of 26,000 - 27,000 (pro-rata salary will be calculated based on 20-23 hours per week).

The role

You will assist with purchase and sales ledger management, payroll processing using Xero, bank reconciliations, VAT returns, and maintaining accurate donor and Gift Aid records. You will also liaise with the charity shop, support fundraising administration, and handle donor communications with sensitivity.

About you

You will be highly organised, numerate and accurate, with previous accounts experience and confidence using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero. You'll be a strong team player with good communication skills and attention to detail.

Essential requirements

GCSE Maths and English (Grade A-C or equivalent) Previous accounts or bookkeeping experience Excellent knowledge of Excel and Word Experience using cloud-based accounting software (e.g. Xero) Full clean driving licence

Desirable

Part-qualified AAT or above Charity finance or payroll experience
