Job Description

Job Summary: This is a newly created role to support the Head of Finance with bringing the accounting function in-house at DFYNE. So, before we get into the details of the role, it\xe2\x80\x99s probably best that I tell you a bit about me, the person you\xe2\x80\x99ll be working most closely with. I\xe2\x80\x99m James, Head of Finance here at DFYNE, I started in October so we\xe2\x80\x99re a brand-new function. Coming from a chartered accountancy background, I love to work with both new and established businesses, this was such an exciting opportunity to grow and develop a brand-new finance team from a blank canvas. This is a great time to join the DFYNE family, and I\xe2\x80\x99m looking for someone who I can trust to manage the day-to-day transactions and who will eventually become my right hand. It will be hard work, especially in the initial stages, and there\xe2\x80\x99s lots to learn. It\'s not a role for the faint-hearted, but if you have the right attitude, I can teach you all you need to know. While some experience will help, the right attitude will go further, this role won\xe2\x80\x99t suit someone who just wants to be a number cruncher and follow a predetermined rulebook! \xe2\x80\x9cThat\xe2\x80\x99s not my job\xe2\x80\x9d just isn\xe2\x80\x99t in our vocabulary here at DFYNE. As a Finance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the finance department by assisting in various financial and administrative tasks, effectively you will be the beating heart of the finance function. As a fast-growing organisation that is dynamic, you will have an opportunity to learn a huge amount and be involved in all the key accounting processes, so you will get a rounded picture of how the whole accounting function works. Being involved at such an early stage will put you in great position for future progression, within the finance function (or even beyond) as the business grows rapidly and the accounts team increases in size. What we are looking for: \xe2\x97\x8f Someone with a \xe2\x80\x9ccan do\xe2\x80\x9d attitude. \xe2\x97\x8f Ability to learn quickly. \xe2\x97\x8f Ability to be flexible and manage multiple priorities. \xe2\x97\x8f Organised individual and ability to work to deadlines. \xe2\x97\x8f Attention to detail. \xe2\x97\x8f Ability to work effectively as part of a team but comfortable to work efficiently on an individual basis. \xe2\x97\x8f Good communication skills, both written and verbal Preferable skills: \xe2\x97\x8f A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred but not always required. \xe2\x97\x8f Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. \xe2\x97\x8f Experience of using accounting software previously is preferred but not essential. \xe2\x97\x8f Previous experience in a similar role would be a plus but not essential.
