Key Responsibilities

Process and maintain purchase and sales ledger transactions Assist with bank reconciliations and cashbook entries Invoicing of fees and additional charges Support the preparation of management accounts Handle employee expenses and company credit card reconciliations Monitor and follow up on aged debtors and creditors Assist with VAT returns and reconciliations Maintain the Fixed Asset Register Assist in the preparation of termly and end-of-year accounts Provide general support to the Head of Finance

Requirements

Essential:

Previous experience in a similar finance or accounts role Working knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable:

AAT qualified or studying towards (or equivalent experience) Experience working in the Education sector Familiarity with UK financial regulations and VAT compliance

What We Offer

37.5-hour full time working week Salary of 25,000 to 30,000 FTE, depending on experience 45 days annual leave each year, 10 days of which must be taken at Christmas, 2 days which must be taken at Easter and the remaining days outwith term-time Generous pension scheme Free school lunches (term-time only) Free parking
