Job Description


An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Councils busy Exchequer team. This small but successful team process large volumes of invoices, reconcile daily income and maintain sales and purchase ledger records whilst meeting tight deadlines to ensure customers both internally and externally receive the required service.

This post is responsible for providing an efficient and effective finance support service, including:

  • Invoice processing for both Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger.
  • Income received reconciliation.
  • Ensuring timely payment of suppliers
  • Setting up new supplier accounts
  • Checking authorisations prior to processing.
  • Monitoring and maintaining customers and supplier records.
  • General admin duties.
Qualifications

Desirable
  • A qualification reflecting an understanding of math\'s or basic accounting
  • Ability to use literacy, numeracy and ICT skills to complete a range of tasks, such as, composing letters, analysing and reconciling numerical data.
  • Ability to deal with customers both internal & external by telephone or by email.
Experience

Essential
  • Previous experience of data inputting
  • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office packages, including basic Excel skills
  • Previous experience working with a finance system
